10th Grade (World History)

  • argue the merits of challenging conventional wisdom as was evident during the Renaissance.

  • compare successes of European conquest in the New World to European contact with East Asia.

 

  • illustrate influence of Enlightenment age philosophies to the drafting of documents created by the American founding fathers.
  • identify impact of nationalism and imperialism in the 19th century and contrast unification in Germany and Japan.
  • describe the impact of war on the soldiers who fought in World War I and analyze the impact of modern warfare in the 20th century.
  • compare and contrast rise of totalitarian regimes that rise in the Soviet Union and Fascist Germany in the Interwar Years.
  • create definitions of war atrocities using specific examples from World War II to clarify the “rules” of war.
  • analyze long-term trends in the modern world (post-WWII) that impact our current understanding of the world and our potential impact.
