Community Budget Forum - Tuesday, March 9 - 7:00 PM, HS

The Atchison County
Community School District is hosting a community forum on
Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The purpose of the forum is to discuss
potential budget cuts and the process the board will use to
develop next year’s budgets. Superintendent Wiseman will give a
legislative update, present information on the current year’s
budget, and talk about cost savings initiatives being
considered. Time will be allotted for community members to ask
questions and voice concerns.
The meeting will start at 7:00
p.m. in the HS auditorium.

The Talking Tigers
forensics team hosted and competed at the Big 7 League
Forensics last Wednesday (3/3/10). Thank you to everyone who
helped…the tournament was a great success. The Talking
Tigers all competed very well, earning the team 2nd place in
Sweepstakes.

Kindergarten Round-up
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

This year's Pre-School /
Kindergarten round-up has been scheduled for March 10-12 in
the educational center of the Union Church in Effingham.
Students who will be four-years old by August 31, 2010,will
be screened for Pre-School, and students who will be five
years old by August 31, 2010 will be screened for
kindergarten.
Parents of students who want
to participate in the round-up are asked to call the Primary
School office at 913-833-2200 or email
sowersk@usd377.org
to request a packet of information and round-up forms. The
information will be sent out in time to be completed and
returned to round-up.
We are asking parents to call
as soon as possible in order to help us get an
accurate count of next year's Pre-School and Kindergarten
classes. If you have any questions about the round up or
about the programs at the Pre-School or the Primary school,
please call principal Tom Hinrichs at 913-833-2200.
2010-11 is going to be a
great year- we hope that your child is a part of it.
